These MP3s are edited from a series of live recordings made in and around the city of Cluj by Fr. Aris Metrakos during his visit to Romania in May 2007. While they are not professional-quality recordings, they still accurately represent contemporary liturgical singing of the Orthodox Romanians in Transylvania, a subject about which little can be found on the Internet. To reduce the size of these files, sermons and speeches have been removed. In the near future, I will include some explanations and commentary on these recordings.

Divine Liturgy in Romanian

This Divine Liturgy was celebrated on August 25, 2007 by Fr. Aris Metrakos, with chanting by David Mastroberte. Music marked "D. Cuntan" is the chant from western Transylvania as notated in the late 19th century by Fr. Dimitrie Cuntan of Sibiu. The uniformizata melodies are "standardized" chants (as the name implies) promulgated by the Romanian Orthodox Patriarchate.
